Holy Innocents Salad Lunch and Entertainment for Christian Aid

Thanks to all who joined us for a lovely afternoon last Sunday.  I have always enjoyed this occasion and am very sorry to have to announce that I am not able to continue.  But I think we all had a good time.  The Home-made Entertainment was great fun:  Tim read two of his poems, and explained the background to his writing them, which made them even more interesting to hear.  Jane gave a lovely reading, that I think may have featured in her schooling, as I saw two or three of her listeners saying the words with her.  Mary played 4 songs for us, finishing with a rousing March in honour of the Coronation.  David Sheppard brought a very humorous reading about gardening, but his voice sounded remarkedly like Pat's.  (They do say we grow to be like those we live with for an extended time.)
And I told a story with a  very important song at the end.

Thanks, too, to those who helped with the clearing up, particularly Betty Holdgate and Jane Dalton, who washed up, vacuumed the hall, and mopped the kitchen while I persistently got in their way.

Oh, and with the help of three donations equalling £25, we will send £315 to Christian Aid.  Good food, good fun, good companionship, and great giving.  Perfect!

Thank you to all who took part in our fun.
